2nd Tuesday on the Riverwalk Celebration!
Join Chicago Riverwalk vendors as they celebrate the second day of the week on the City’s second shore!
Join Beat Kitchen on the Riverwalk, City Winery, Downtown Docks and Tiny Tapp & Café who will be providing a pop-up activation on the Jetty (Wells Street to Franklin) August 13 and September 10. Food, beverages and entertainment will be available for starting at 3 p.m. and continuing through the Art on the Mart show which begins at sunset, approximately 8:45 p.m.
The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events sponsors the LUMA8 LED Lantern processions as part of the "2nd Tuesdays on the Riverwalk" program and which is themed after the 2019 "Year of Chicago Theatre" celebration.
The Happiness Club will be performing from 3 - 4 p.m. Members of the Happiness Club aged 7 to 21 will be singing and dancing. All music and choreography used in the program is original.
DJ Jesse de la Pena will be spinning a variety of tunes, featuring house music between 4:30- 8:30 p.m.
LUMA8 working with Dream Big Education LED lantern procession to spotlight their upcoming Chitty Chitty Bang Bang show and it will be led by a fantastic out-of-this-world car lantern that flies through the air and sails the seas. Join the procession at Columbus Plaza and walk west to meet the Riverwalk vendors at the Jetty! As with all of our lantern processions, we invite you to make your own "Up in the Air" lantern and join us! If you'd like to do so, please send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org.
DJ Tom Marker will be spinning blues, featuring Chicago artists between 5:00- 8:30 p.m.
The Happiness Club was started in 1990s and has served as a positive influence for Chicago kids ever since.
